Marian Hope Academy

The Elementary School Experience

The elementary years at Marian Hope Academy are distinguished by a focus on character development and community. We are not just cultivating brilliant brains that thrive in academics but also well-rounded people who understand how their decisions and actions affect the world around them. We recognize that the elementary years are critical for instilling a sense of personal responsibility and discipline (habits) that will serve them well throughout their lives.

Elementary academic education is delivered in small, intimate settings, allowing for student-led discussions, project-based activities, inquiry-based learning, and one-on-one instruction. The curriculum is carefully designed to promote whole-brain, whole-child learning, in keeping with Marian Hope Academy's commitment to research-based best practices.

A multisensory approach to subject matter is used throughout the basic curriculum. Math is taught via hands-on, tangible experiences to establish essential concepts before progressing to abstract thinking. Science is taught using a problem-solving strategy that requires students to work together to achieve goals while also exercising critical thinking and reasoning abilities. Language Arts and Social Studies concepts are explored via hands-on projects, high-quality books, field excursions, class debates, and presentations.
